Hill Ivory

From the studio.

This piece works entirely in one color, letting texture and form do all the talking instead of contrast. Dense white hydrangea forms a soft, rounded base, while a scattering of white orchid blooms rests on top, their smooth, wide petals a quiet contrast to the hydrangea's cloud-like texture.

Nothing here competes for attention. The orchids sit like accents across the surface rather than mixed evenly throughout, so each bloom stays visible and distinct against the hydrangea. The whole piece is gathered by hand and wrapped in soft, sheer white paper that lets the color read as clean and monochrome from every angle, the kind of quiet, elegant white that works as well for a wedding as it does for a simple thank you.

Botanical Insight

The large blooms doing most of the visual work here are Phalaenopsis orchids, commonly called moth orchids for the shape of their open petals. Cut Phalaenopsis blooms are unusually long-lasting for a tropical flower, often holding their shape and color for two to three weeks with proper care, largely because their thick, waxy petals hold moisture far better than most cut flowers. They prefer their stems kept in shallow water rather than fully submerged, and do best away from direct sun or drafts, both of which can cause the petals to bruise or brown at the edges faster than expected.

Floral Shortlist

• Hydrangea: Full, cloud-like heads in pure white forming the arrangement's soft base
• Orchids: White Phalaenopsis blooms placed as elegant, long-lasting accents
• Finish: Soft sheer white paper for a clean, monochrome presentation

Bespoke Standard

We source fresh, live stems directly from premier flower auctions every morning. Since every bloom is naturally unique, small variations in hydrangea fullness or orchid placement may occur. What stays consistent is the arrangement's pure white palette and its signature sheer paper finish.
