South
End Stargazer

From the studio.

This piece plays warm, quiet tones against one bold statement. Champagne and blush roses fill out the base with a soft, romantic texture, while spikes of white stock add height and a light, natural fragrance throughout.

The real showstopper is the Stargazer lilies, their deep magenta petals opening wide across the top of the design and pulling the eye immediately. Their color and scale give the whole piece a sense of drama that the softer roses and stock balance out rather than compete with. Everything is gathered by hand and finished in soft peach paper, tying the warm tones together from the flowers down to the wrap.

Botanical Insight

The bold pink blooms here are Stargazer lilies, a variety bred specifically for their upward facing, star shaped petals and strong, sweet fragrance, unusual traits for a lily, since most varieties face downward or outward. Like other Oriental lilies, Stargazers are typically shipped in bud form and open gradually over five to seven days, so the piece keeps developing after it arrives rather than peaking on day one. Once a bloom fully opens, gently removing the orange stamens by hand prevents the pollen from staining fabric or furniture, a simple step that has no effect on the flower's fragrance or how long it lasts.
